这时,有一位比丘来到世尊那里,来到后,向世尊礼拜,然后坐在一旁。坐在一旁的那位比丘对世尊说:"尊者,人们常说'法住者,法住者'。比丘要在什么程度上才是法住者呢?"


"比丘,这里,比丘学习法——经、应颂、记说、偈颂、自说、如是语、本生、未曾有法、毗陀罗(即以问答方式阐述深奥佛理的经典)。他用这学法的时间度过一天,放弃独处,不致力于内心的止息。比丘,这被称为'多闻的比丘,而非法住者'。"


"再者,比丘,比丘如其所闻、所学的法广泛地向他人宣说。他用这说法的时间度过一天,放弃独处,不致力于内心的止息。比丘,这被称为'多说的比丘,而非法住者'。"


"再者,比丘,比丘如其所闻、所学的法广泛地诵读。他用这诵读的时间度过一天,放弃独处,不致力于内心的止息。比丘,这被称为'多诵的比丘,而非法住者'。"


"再者,比丘,比丘如其所闻、所学的法用心思考、详察、意识观照。他用这法的思考时间度过一天,放弃独处,不致力于内心的止息。比丘,这被称为'多思的比丘,而非法住者'。"

74 第二法住经

"再者,比丘,比丘如其所闻、所学的法用心思考、详察、意识观照,但他用更高的智慧不了解其义。比丘,这被称为'多思的比丘,而非法住者'。"

75 第一战士经


"比丘们,世间有这五种存在的战士。哪五种?比丘们,这里,某战士一看见尘土就沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能进入战场。比丘们,有这样的一类战士。比丘们,这是世间存在的第一种战士。"


"再者,比丘们,这里某战士能忍受尘土;但一看见旗帜就沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能进入战场。比丘们,有这样的一类战士。比丘们,这是世间存在的第二种战士。"


"再者,比丘们,这里某战士能忍受尘土,能忍受旗帜;但一听到喊声就沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能进入战场。比丘们,有这样的一类战士。比丘们,这是世间存在的第三种战士。"


"再者,比丘们,这里某战士能忍受尘土,能忍受旗帜,能忍受喊声;但在冲突中被打败、受伤。比丘们,有这样的一类战士。比丘们,这是世间存在的第四种战士。"


"再者,比丘们,这里某战士能忍受尘土,能忍受旗帜,能忍受喊声,能忍受冲突。他在那战斗中获胜,赢得战斗后,就在那战场上安住。比丘们,有这样的一类战士。比丘们,这是世间存在的第五种战士。比丘们,这些是世间存在的五种战士。"


"同样地,比丘们,比丘中也有这五种类似战士的人存在。哪五种?比丘们,这里,比丘一看见尘土就沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能坚持梵行。他显露修行的衰弱,放弃学处,回归低级生活。什么是他的尘土?比丘们,这里比丘听说:'在某村或某镇上有女子或少女极美丽、悦目、可爱,具有极佳的肤色'。他听到这些后沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能坚持梵行。他显露修行的衰弱,放弃学处,回归低级生活。这是他的尘土。"


"比丘们,就像那战士一看见尘土就沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能进入战场;比丘们,我说这个人也是如此。比丘们,有这样的一类人。比丘们,这是比丘中存在的第一种类似战士的人。"


"再者,比丘们,比丘能忍受尘土;但一看见旗帜就沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能坚持梵行。他显露修行的衰弱,放弃学处,回归低级生活。什么是他的旗帜?比丘们,这里比丘不仅仅是听说:'在某村或某镇上有女子或少女极美丽、悦目、可爱,具有极佳的肤色';而是他亲眼看见女子或少女极美丽、悦目、可爱,具有极佳的肤色。他看见后沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能坚持梵行。他显露修行的衰弱,放弃学处,回归低级生活。这是他的旗帜。"


"比丘们,就像那战士能忍受尘土;但一看见旗帜就沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能进入战场;比丘们,我说这个人也是如此。比丘们,有这样的一类人。比丘们,这是比丘中存在的第二种类似战士的人。"


"再者,比丘们,比丘能忍受尘土,能忍受旗帜;但一听到喊声就沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能坚持梵行。他显露修行的衰弱,放弃学处,回归低级生活。什么是他的喊声?比丘们,这里比丘在林中,在树下,或在空屋中,女人走近他,对他笑,与他交谈,嬉笑,嘲弄。他被女人逗笑,交谈,嬉笑,嘲弄后沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能坚持梵行。他显露修行的衰弱,放弃学处,回归低级生活。这是他的喊声。"


"比丘们,就像那战士能忍受尘土,能忍受旗帜;但一听到喊声就沮丧、消沉,不能振作,不能进入战场;比丘们,我说这个人也是如此。比丘们,有这样的一类人。比丘们,这是比丘中存在的第三种类似战士的人。"


"再者,比丘们,比丘能忍受尘土,能忍受旗帜,能忍受喊声;但在冲突中被打败、受伤。什么是他的冲突?比丘们,这里比丘在林中,在树下,或在空屋中,女人走近他,坐下,躺下,压制他。他被女人坐下,躺下,压制后,不放弃学处,不显露衰弱,却行淫欲法。这是他的冲突。"


"比丘们,就像那战士能忍受尘土,能忍受旗帜,能忍受喊声;但在冲突中被打败、受伤;比丘们,我说这个人也是如此。比丘们,有这样的一类人。比丘们,这是比丘中存在的第四种类似战士的人。"


"再者,比丘们,比丘能忍受尘土,能忍受旗帜,能忍受喊声,能忍受冲突,他在那战斗中获胜,赢得战斗后,就在那战场上安住。什么是他的战胜?比丘们,这里比丘在林中,在树下,或在空屋中,女人走近他,坐下,躺下,压制他。他被女人坐下,躺下,压制后,挣脱自己,解脱自己,随意离开。他前往隐居处,在林中,树下,山中,峡谷,山洞,墓地,丛林,空地,草堆。"


"他前往林中,或树下,或空屋中,结跏趺坐,保持身体正直,建立面前的念。他舍弃世间的贪欲,以无贪之心而住,从贪欲中净化心;舍弃嗔恨恶意,以无嗔之心而住,为所有生命存在的福祉怀有同情,从嗔恨恶意中净化心;舍弃昏沉睡眠,无昏沉睡眠而住,有光明想,具念正知,从昏沉睡眠中净化心;舍弃掉举后悔,无掉举而住,内心平静,从掉举后悔中净化心;舍弃疑惑,超越疑惑而住,对善法无疑,从疑惑中净化心。


他舍弃这五盖——这些心的污染物,这些使智慧削弱的障碍,远离诸欲...(中略)...喜的消退,他住于舍,具念正知,以身体感受乐,这就是圣者所说的'舍、具念、乐住'的第三禅。舍弃乐与苦,先前已灭除喜忧,他达到无苦无乐、舍念清净的第四禅。"


"当他的心如此入定,清净,明亮,无瑕疵,离染,柔软,适业,稳固,达到不动时,他引导心向漏尽智。他如实了知:'这是苦',如实了知:'这是苦集',如实了知:'这是苦灭',如实了知:'这是导向苦灭的道路',如实了知:'这些是漏',如实了知:'这是漏集',如实了知:'这是漏灭',如实了知:'这是导向漏灭的道路'。当他如此知见时,他的心从欲漏解脱,从有漏解脱,从无明漏解脱,在解脱中生起解脱智:'生已尽,梵行已立,所作已办,不受后有'。这是他的战胜。"

So mātugāmena abhinisīdiyamāno abhinipajjiyamāno ajjhotthariyamāno sikkhaṃ apaccakkhāya dubbalyaṃ anāvikatvā methunaṃ dhammaṃ paṭisevati. Idamassa sampahārasmiṃ.

   “Seyyathāpi so, bhikkhave, yodhājīvo sahati rajaggaṃ, sahati dhajaggaṃ, sahati ussāraṇaṃ, api ca kho sampahāre haññati byāpajjati; tathūpamāhaṃ, bhikkhave, imaṃ puggalaṃ vadāmi. Evarūpopi, bhikkhave, idhekacco puggalo hoti. Ayaṃ, bhikkhave, catuttho yodhājīvūpamo puggalo santo saṃvijjamāno bhikkhūsu.

   “Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sahati rajaggaṃ, sahati dhajaggaṃ, sahati ussāraṇaṃ, sahati sampahāraṃ, so taṃ saṅgāmaṃ abhivijinitvā vijitasaṅgāmo tameva saṅgāmasīsaṃ ajjhāvasati Kimassa saṅgāmavijayasmiṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu araññagataṃ vā rukkhamūlagataṃ vā suññāgāragataṃ vā mātugāmo upasaṅkamitvā abhinisīdati abhinipajjati ajjhottharati. So mātugāmena abhinisīdiyamāno abhinipajjiyamāno ajjhotthariyamāno viniveṭhetvā vinimocetvā yena kāmaṃ pakkamati. So vivittaṃ senāsanaṃ bhajati araññaṃ rukkhamūlaṃ pabbataṃ kandaraṃ giriguhaṃ susānaṃ vanapatthaṃ abbhokāsaṃ palālapuñjaṃ.

   “So araññagato vā rukkhamūlagato vā suññāgāragato vā nisīdati pallaṅkaṃ ābhujitvā ujuṃ kāyaṃ paṇidhāya parimukhaṃ satiṃ upaṭṭhapetvā So abhijjhaṃ loke pahāya vigatābhijjhena cetasā viharati, abhijjhāya cittaṃ parisodheti; byāpādapadosaṃ pahāya abyāpannacitto viharati, sabbapāṇabhūtahitānukampī byāpādapadosā cittaṃ parisodheti; thinamiddhaṃ pahāya vigatathinamiddho viharati ālokasaññī sato sampajāno, thinamiddhā cittaṃ parisodheti; uddhaccakukkuccaṃ pahāya anuddhato viharati ajjhattaṃ vūpasantacitto, uddhaccakukkuccā cittaṃ parisodheti; vicikicchaṃ pahāya tiṇṇavicikiccho viharati akathaṃkathī kusalesu dhammesu, vicikicchāya cittaṃ parisodheti. So ime pañca nīvaraṇe pahāya cetaso upakkilese paññāya dubbalīkaraṇe vivicceva kāmehi …pe… pītiyā ca virāgā upekkhako ca viharati sato sampajāno, sukhañca kāyena paṭisaṃvedeti yaṃ taṃ ariyā ācikkhanti – ‘upekkhako satimā sukhavihārī’ti tatiyaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. Sukhassa ca pahānā dukkhassa ca pahānā, pubbeva somanassadomanassānaṃ atthaṅgamā adukkhamasukhaṃ upekkhāsatipārisuddhiṃ catutthaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati.

   “So evaṃ samāhite citte parisuddhe pariyodāte anaṅgaṇe vigatūpakkilese mudubhūte kammaniye ṭhite āneñjappatte āsavānaṃ khayañāṇāya cittaṃ abhininnāmeti. So ‘idaṃ dukkhan’ti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti, ‘ayaṃ dukkhasamudayo’ti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti, ‘ayaṃ dukkhanirodho’ti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti, ‘ayaṃ dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā’ti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti, ‘ime āsavā’ti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti, ‘ayaṃ āsavasamudayo’ti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti, ‘ayaṃ āsavanirodho’ti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti, ‘ayaṃ āsavanirodhagāminī paṭipadā’ti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti. Tassa evaṃ jānato evaṃ passato kāmāsavāpi cittaṃ vimuccati, bhavāsavāpi cittaṃ vimuccati, avijjāsavāpi cittaṃ vimuccati, vimuttasmiṃ vimuttamiti ñāṇaṃ hoti. ‘Khīṇā jāti, vusitaṃ brahmacariyaṃ, kataṃ karaṇīyaṃ, nāparaṃ itthattāyā’ti pajānāti. Idamassa saṅgāmavijayasmiṃ.
