126 集法经
舍卫城因缘。那时,有一位比丘来到世尊处;来到后……(中略)……坐在一旁后,那位比丘对世尊如是说道:"世尊,人们谈论'无明,无明'。世尊,什么是无明?何种程度算是陷入无明?"
"比丘,在此,未受教导的凡夫不能如实了知色是集起之法,不能如实了知色是衰灭之法,不能如实了知色是集起与衰灭之法。不能如实了知受是集起之法,不能如实了知受是衰灭之法,不能如实了知受是集起与衰灭之法。不能如实了知想是集起之法……(中略)……不能如实了知行是集起之法,不能如实了知行是衰灭之法,不能如实了知行是集起与衰灭之法。不能如实了知识是集起之法,不能如实了知识是衰灭之法,不能如实了知识是集起与衰灭之法。比丘,这被称为无明;这就是陷入无明的程度。"
听到这些,那位比丘对世尊说道:"世尊,人们谈论'明,明'。世尊,什么是明?何种程度算是达到明?"
"比丘,在此,已受教导的圣弟子能如实了知色是集起之法,能如实了知色是衰灭之法,能如实了知色是集起与衰灭之法。能如实了知受是集起之法,能如实了知受是衰灭之法,能如实了知受是集起与衰灭之法。能如实了知想是集起之法……能如实了知行是集起之法,能如实了知行是衰灭之法,能如实了知行是集起与衰灭之法。能如实了知识是集起之法,能如实了知识是衰灭之法,能如实了知识是集起与衰灭之法。比丘,这被称为明;这就是达到明的程度。"(第一)

一时,尊者舍利弗和尊者大拘絺罗住在波罗奈城的仙人坠鹿野苑。傍晚时分,尊者大拘絺罗从禅修中起身……(中略)……坐在一旁后,尊者大拘絺罗对尊者舍利弗如是说道:"'无明,无明',贤友舍利弗,人们这样说。贤友,什么是无明?何种程度算是陷入无明?"
