"如是我闻:一时,佛在舍卫城。
佛说:'诸比丘,若比丘于七处善巧,具三种观察,于此法律中可称为圆满成就者、究竟完成者、最上士。
诸比丘,云何比丘于七处善巧?在此,比丘:
了知色
了知色集
了知色灭
了知趣向色灭之道
了知色味
了知色患
了知色离
同样地,他了知受、想、行、识,了知识集,了知识灭,了知趣向识灭之道,了知识味,了知识患,了知识离。
诸比丘,何为色?四大种及四大种所造色,是为色。食集则色集,食灭则色灭。八正道即是趣向色灭之道,即:正见...乃至...正定。
缘色而生起乐与喜悦,此为色味。色是无常、苦、变易之法,此为色患。调伏并断除对色的欲贪,此为色离。
诸比丘,若有沙门或婆罗门如实了知色,如实了知色集,如实了知色灭,如实了知趣向色灭之道;如实了知色味,如实了知色患,如实了知色离,为色的厌离、离欲、灭尽而修行者,是为善修行。善修行者于此法律中得立足。
诸比丘,若有沙门或婆罗门如实了知色,如实了知色集,如实了知色灭,如实了知趣向色灭之道;如实了知色味,如实了知色患,如实了知色离,由于对色的厌离、离欲、灭尽而无取著解脱者,是为善解脱。善解脱者是圆满者。圆满者无有轮回可说。
诸比丘,何为受?六种受身:眼触生受...乃至...意触生受。是为受。触集则受集,触灭则受灭。八正道即是趣向受灭之道,即:正见...乃至...正定。

诸比丘,何为行?六种思身:色思、声思、香思、味思、触思、法思。是为行。触集则行集,触灭则行灭。八正道即是趣向行灭之道,即:正见...乃至...正定。
缘行而生起乐与喜悦,此为行味。行是无常、苦、变易之法,此为行患。调伏并断除对行的欲贪,此为行离。
诸比丘,若有沙门或婆罗门如实了知行,如实了知行集,如实了知行灭,如实了知趣向行灭之道...乃至...为行的厌离、离欲、灭尽而修行者,是为善修行。善修行者于此法律中得立足...乃至...无有轮回可说。
诸比丘,何为识?六种识身:眼识、耳识、鼻识、舌识、身识、意识。是为识。名色集则识集,名色灭则识灭。八正道即是趣向识灭之道,即:正见...乃至...正定。

57. Sāvatthinidānaṃ. “Sattaṭṭhānakusalo, bhikkhave, bhikkhu tividhūpaparikkhī imasmiṃ dhammavinaye kevalī vusitavā uttamapurisoti vuccati. Kathañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sattaṭṭhānakusalo hoti?
