31 正觉前经
佛陀住在舍卫城......"诸比丘,在我尚未正觉,还是菩萨时,我如是思惟:'地界的味是什么?过患是什么?出离是什么?水界的味是什么?过患是什么?出离是什么?火界的味是什么?过患是什么?出离是什么?风界的味是什么?过患是什么?出离是什么?'"
"诸比丘,我如是思惟:'缘于地界而生起的乐与喜悦,这是地界的味;地界是无常的、苦的、变易法,这是地界的过患;对地界调伏欲贪、断除欲贪,这是地界的出离。缘于水界而生起的乐与喜悦...缘于火界而生起的乐与喜悦...缘于风界而生起的乐与喜悦,这是风界的味;风界是无常的、苦的、变易法,这是风界的过患;对风界调伏欲贪、断除欲贪,这是风界的出离。'"
"诸比丘,只要我对这四界的味知味、过患知过患、出离知出离还未如实证知时,我就不能在这包含天、魔、梵的世界,包含沙门、婆罗门、天与人的众生中,宣称已证得无上正等正觉。"

佛陀住在舍卫城......"诸比丘,我寻求地界的味,凡是地界的味我都找到了,以慧善见地界的味。诸比丘,我寻求地界的过患,凡是地界的过患我都找到了,以慧善见地界的过患。诸比丘,我寻求地界的出离,凡是地界的出离我都找到了,以慧善见地界的出离。"
"诸比丘,我寻求水界...诸比丘,我寻求火界...诸比丘,我寻求风界的味,凡是风界的味我都找到了,以慧善见风界的味。诸比丘,我寻求风界的过患,凡是风界的过患我都找到了,以慧善见风界的过患。诸比丘,我寻求风界的出离,凡是风界的出离我都找到了,以慧善见风界的出离。"

"诸比丘,若水界无味...诸比丘,若火界...诸比丘,若风界无味,众生就不会贪着风界。诸比丘,正因为风界有味,所以众生贪着风界。诸比丘,若风界无过患,众生就不会厌离风界。诸比丘,正因为风界有过患,所以众生厌离风界。诸比丘,若风界无出离,众生就不能从风界出离。诸比丘,正因为风界有出离,所以众生能从风界出离。"
