5 顺流经
"比丘们,这个世界上存在四种人。哪四种?顺流而下的人,逆流而上的人,站立不动的人,已经渡过彼岸站在陆地上的婆罗门。比丘们,什么是顺流而下的人?在这里,某人沉溺于感官欲乐,做邪恶的行为。比丘们,这被称为顺流而下的人。
"比丘们,什么是逆流而上的人?在这里,某人不沉溺于感官欲乐,不做邪恶的行为,即使带着痛苦和忧愁,泪流满面地哭泣,也坚持过着完全纯净的梵行生活。比丘们,这被称为逆流而上的人。
"比丘们,什么是站立不动的人?在这里,某人已经完全断除了五下分结,成为化生者,在那里达到最终解脱,不再返回这个世界。比丘们,这被称为站立不动的人。
"比丘们,什么是已经渡过彼岸站在陆地上的婆罗门?在这里,某人通过摧毁所有烦恼,在今生中亲身证悟、实现并安住于无漏的心解脱和慧解脱。比丘们,这被称为已经渡过彼岸站在陆地上的婆罗门。比丘们,这就是世界上存在的四种人。"
"那些在感官欲乐中不能自制的人,贪欲未尽,沉溺于感官享乐,

"因此,智者在此生中保持正念,不沉溺于感官欲乐和邪恶,
即使带着痛苦也要舍弃感官欲乐,这样的人被称为逆流而上者。
"那已经断除五种烦恼,修行圆满不会退步,
已经掌控心识,诸根寂静的人,被称为站立不动者。
"对于他来说,所有法都已经被理解、消除、终止,不再存在,
这样的圣者已经完成梵行,到达世界的尽头,被称为已经到达彼岸者。"第五经。
6 少闻经
"比丘们,这个世界上存在四种人。哪四种?少闻而不精通的人,少闻而精通的人,多闻而不精通的人,多闻而精通的人。比丘们,什么是少闻而不精通的人?在这里,某人只学习了很少的经、应颂、记说、偈颂、自说、如是语、本生、未曾有法、方广。他对这少量所学不能理解其意义,不能理解其法,不能依法修行。比丘们,这就是少闻而不精通的人。
"比丘们,什么是少闻而精通的人?在这里,某人只学习了很少的经、应颂、记说、偈颂、自说、如是语、本生、未曾有法、方广。但他对这少量所学能够理解其意义,能够理解其法,能够依法修行。比丘们,这就是少闻而精通的人。
"比丘们,什么是多闻而不精通的人?在这里,某人学习了大量的经、应颂、记说、偈颂、自说、如是语、本生、未曾有法、方广。但他对这大量所学不能理解其意义,不能理解其法,不能依法修行。比丘们,这就是多闻而不精通的人。
"比丘们,什么是多闻而精通的人?在这里,某人学习了大量的经、应颂、记说、偈颂、自说、如是语、本生、未曾有法、方广。他对这大量所学能够理解其意义,能够理解其法,能够依法修行。比丘们,这就是多闻而精通的人。比丘们,这就是世界上存在的四种人。"
"即使学识浅薄,如果不持戒,
人们会从两个方面批评他:戒行和学识。

人们会因他的戒行而赞美他,他的学识也会增长。
"即使学识渊博,如果不持戒,
人们会因他的戒行而批评他,他的学识也无法圆满。
"如果学识渊博,而且持戒严谨,
人们会从两个方面赞美他:戒行和学识。
"多闻、持法、有智慧的佛弟子,
如同纯金,谁能够责备他?
即使是天神也赞美他,梵天也称赞他。"第六经。

Katamo ca, bhikkhave, anusotagāmī puggalo? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo kāme ca paṭisevati, pāpañca kammaṃ karoti. Ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, anusotagāmī puggalo.
“Katamo ca, bhikkhave, paṭisotagāmī puggalo? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo kāme ca nappaṭisevati, pāpañca kammaṃ na karoti, sahāpi dukkhena sahāpi domanassena assumukhopi rudamāno paripuṇṇaṃ parisuddhaṃ brahmacariyaṃ carati. Ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, paṭisotagāmī puggalo.

“Katamo ca, bhikkhave, puggalo tiṇṇo pāraṅgato thale tiṭṭhati brāhmaṇo? Idha bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo āsavānaṃ khayā anāsavaṃ cetovimuttiṃ paññāvimuttiṃ diṭṭheva dhamme sayaṃ abhiññā sacchikatvā upasampajja viharati. Ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, puggalo tiṇṇo pāraṅgato thale tiṭṭhati brāhmaṇo. Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmin”ti.

Punappunaṃ jātijarūpagāmi te, taṇhādhipannā anusotagāmino.
“Tasmā hi dhīro idhupaṭṭhitassatī, kāme ca pāpe ca asevamāno.
Sahāpi dukkhena jaheyya kāme, paṭisotagāmīti tamāhu puggalaṃ.
“Yo ve kilesāni pahāya pañca, paripuṇṇasekho aparihānadhammo.
Cetovasippatto samāhitindriyo, sa ve ṭhitattoti naro pavuccati.
“Paroparā yassa samecca dhammā, vidhūpitā atthagatā na santi.
